How to System Restore?

i am trying to restore my laptop to factory default and every time i try to open system restore, internet explorer, add remove programs etc. i keep getting a message not allowing me to do so saying "windows cannot access the specified device,path,or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item"

if you want to resotre the laptop to the factory, i suggest you to format the laptop.. it will clean the laptop from the virus and the setting will reset at all..if you only restore system it will good performance for a while..

how do i format my laptop its OS is XP

open the bios system and set the boot device.. make sure the cd rom become the 1st boot follow by hard disk and etc... but before format you must have the XP cd.. you have the cd when you buy the new laptop..
