Desktop PowerPC G4 specs:

933 MHz PowerPC
1GB SDRAM
OS X: Panther 10.3.9

I've been trying to upgrade my computer to Leopard (according to all the specs, I'm pretty sure my computer is up to scratch), but when I double click "Install Mac OS" (this is a full install disc, no just an upgrade), and then Restart, the computer just restarts and then nothing happens.

Does anybody have an idea of what's going on? I'm completely lost on how to fix it...

Thanks!!

liljupiter614,

I might be wrong, but this is what you do if you have a blank computer.

Put the disk in like usual, and then shut down normally. When you boot it back up, hold the c key when its starting up, should start up from a bootable CD or DVD, such as the Mac OS X Install disc.

As I said, its for blank computers (bland hard drive), so I'm not sure if your files will be still there, it might wipe the hard drive. Only try this if you cant do anything else, back up your stuff to external hard drive. Maybe ask someone that knows more about the subject.

This is just a back up answer. Hope it works.
