Hello,

I have an Asus Eee PC 1000H laptop with Windows XP and it won't recognize my external CD/DVD player.

There is a fix, because I fixed it before. But, I did a clean wipe of my hard drive and I'm reinstalling everything. But, it won't recognize the CD player again. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

Daniel

try this 1

click on start--->run--->type

regedt32 ---> click on OK

registry editor will be opened

backup your registry by going to file---->export and save the file with any name.

now follow these instructions

on the left side

expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE--->expand SYSTEM---->expand CurrentControlSet--->expand Control---->expand Class

user class click on {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

at right side delete these files if u find it upper filters,lower filters,upper filters.bak,lower filters.bak
and then restart your laptop
