Internet download speed reduced after upgrade

Hello,
i was using bsnl 256kbps broadband plan(speed was 256kbps) with download limit 1gb.so when i download something the maximum download speed was arround 160 kbps.now i upgraded it to 750 unlimited home plan(speed is 512kbps).but when i download something the speed is maximum 62kbps.i dont know what to do?please tell any idea to improve the speed upto atleast 200kbps.thanx in advance.again when i use internet downloader manager it shows i am using dail up connection,but i am using pppoe connnection.the downloader manager also show max speed 64kbps.thanx in advance

Hello,

The speed your getting is correct. Most of the service providers gives more

download speed to the limited users so that the users can finish their

download limit very soon and then they can charge you per MB. Your bandwidth

is 512Kbps. So download speed will be 512/8=64KBps. So you are download

speed vary at 64KBps. Sometimes you will be able to get higher than 64KBps

due to bursting. The upload and download speed is decided by your service

provider.
