Hello,

I've got a HP desktop running Windows 7. I changed the monitor to a Sony TV with a VGA input. I have a GeForce 8400 graphics card. The monitor is connected with a DVI to VGA adapter and then a VGA cable.

When I start up the Windows logo appears but the screen goes black before I get to the login screen. If I start up in Safe Mode, there's no problem.

Any idea how I can fix this please?

Hello,

Try this 1

Check the screen resolution. Go to Safe Mode and decrease the screen

resolution. For more information regarding connecting your laptop to TV, click

on the below hyperlink "External Display"

I've tried that, but it doesn't work I'm afraid.
