Hello,
I have a Dell Inspirion 1545 laptop. My sister stepped on it and cracked the lcd screen, A friend took it to a person who works in a tech support profession suggested I purchase a external monitor because the hard drive is still intact which I did. I connected my laptop/monitor. Turned it on. now the computer runs all these diagnostic tests Everything "passes" but I continue getting the same error message:NO HARD DRIVE DETECTED".
I am not not very computer literate, so any advice you can provide will be helpful.

Hello,

Try this 1

Go to BIOS --> Load default settings --> Check if your hard drive is detected or

not in the BIOS --> Set the first boot device as "Hard drive" --> Save the settings

and exist from the BIOS.

If the BIOS failed to detect the hard drive then check your hard drive connections.

Good Luck
