Hi,

I have two excel sheets that i need to compare. The problem is that the column headers of sheet 1 doesn't match with the column headers of sheet 2. Another problem is the order in which the columns are pasted in sheet 1 is different in sheet 2. I really need it asap if you could help.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi Swati Nayak,

You can use Microsoft Excel's VLOOKUP() worksheet function in combination with ISNA() worksheet function to compare two columns. I have tried to answer one of the users in the forum who had a similar query. Please refer to the below mentioned thread:

If the post in the above link is not clear, please upload your sample to data speedyshare.com by clicking here.

Note: please do not upload any file which has any type of personal or confidential data as this is an open forum.

Please revert for clarification.

Hi Zohaib,

Actually there are multiple files and huge data to be compared, and for every file the reference would be different. Is there any other way??

Thanks & Regards,
Swati

Hi Swati,

Is there a common column in the two sheets which can be used as a Primary Key? In other words is there a column which has unique values and is present in both the sheets? Check the following example:

A B C
1 AB CA
2 BA BA
3 AC BA
4 CA AC

In the above example Column A is the Primary Key as this has unique values and the values will not repeat.

Please do write back to us.
