Hi Dorjinamgyael,

I am sorry for the problems with your WD My Passport. Could you check if the drive is visible in Disk Management? Does it have a drive letter and a file format? Check in Device Manager too. It should appear under USB devices. Uninstall it, restart the PC and plug the device back in. If the issue persists, try using the chkdsk D: /r command from the Command Prompt, where D should be the My Passport's drive letter.
I strongly recommend you to check the drive with another USB cable.

Hope this helps

Well, if you format the drive your data will be deleted. You could try using a data recovery software or contact a data recovery company, but you can not be 100% sure you will get all your data back. Have you checked the drive on another PC?
Try booting from a Linux Live CD. It may grant you enough access to copy your data. If you manage to do so, format the drive and use Data Lifeguard Diagnostic to check its health. I leave you a download link below. If the tests fail, I strongly recommend you to contact the reseller and get a drive replacement.

seems like there is no solution to recovering data on the external drive. Am planning to format it and then try to recover whatever i can. Please can you suggest the best software for recovering data after formatting a external drive .

I can not recommend you any third party recovery software but you should follow the links below for some suggestions. Keep in mind that, if there is some problem with the drive, formatting it may not solve it. Were you able to check the drive with Data Lifeguard Diagnostic?
