I am Mbaju Jackson and I have an HP ProBook 6455b for my personnel projects. All of a sudden, when I am using it, it shuts down. When I try to boot it again, it first fails to boot, but later it brings an error message that "BIOS application nmissing or corrupt".
Can some one help me, please!!

Typically this means the EFI-partition (HP_TOOLS) has been deleted. You can get past this message by disabling HP Quick look 2 in your BIOS.

Try these steps please:

1. Open up your BIOS (by pressing F10 while your machine is booting up)
2. Go to System Configuration / Device Configurations
3. Look for an option called "HP Quicklook" or "HP Quicklook 2"
4. Set it to "Disabled"
6. Save the changes (hit F10)
7. Restart your machine.

After you restart the machine you shouldn't see the message again
