Connect to monitor using HDMI to DVI cable works sometimes

Hello,

I have my laptop hooked up to two monitors, one via VGA to VGA cable and the other HDMI to DVI cable. It currently isn't working (but was just fine yesterday and I didn't change anything), and I have tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, switching which monitor gets which cable. I also tried blowing out the port in case it was just dirty. This has happened before, and unplugging and plugging usually works. I have a spare cable, and also tried that one and had the same issue.

Whenever I unplug the HDMI side (the side connected to the laptop), the monitor turns on to tell me to check the cable connection.

Is this a sign that my HDMI port is going out? What would you suggest me try next?
