What is the Pocket app about? Pocket is an app that helps you organize and save your favorite news, articles, and videos from the Internet in one place. It is formerly known as Read it Later and allows you to create your own new board.

What are the key features of Pocket?

  • Customize: the principal feature of Pocket is the possibility to choose and organize the information that you are interested in. Whether it's about articles or videos, Pocket has your back.
  • Sources: with this app, you can save information from anywhere. To quote some of the available sources: New York Times, The Guardian, Washington Post, Flipboard, The Atlantic, New Yorker, Lifehacker, Business Insider, The Verge, BBC News, Google News, Buzzfeed, Vox, and many more!
  • Audio conversion: save time and energy - Pocket can convert articles (but also, any kind of text really) into the audio format - you can now cook while educating yourself.
  • Best of the web: to learn more on what you love, or to catch up with what you've missed, Pocket can automatically search the "best of the web" for you!
  • User-friendly: Pocket's intuitive interface will make browsing simple for anyone.

How does Pocket work?

As we mentioned, Pocket’s interface is fairly simple. You only have to download the app and create an account. After that, whenever you want to save something from the web, you only need to click on the share button and choose Pocket. You can also add tags by selecting the tag icon. You can also save from your PC and synchronize it with the app by installing the bookmarklet (it works as a Pocket app Chrome extension but is compatible with other browsers as well).

Is Pocket free?

You can download and use this app for free. There is also a Premium version that costs $5 a month or $45 a year for the annual subscription.

Is Pocket safe?

Pocket has no history of data breaches and it seems pretty safe. Do not hesitate to read the app's Privacy Policy. Also, as always, we recommend avoiding sharing personal information on the web.
