Failed to recover the mails deleted from the trash folder

As they have told a solution for recovering the deleted mails from the trash folder for PRESSING THE SMALL DOWN ARROW IN SEARCH TAB...and CLICKING ON TO THE BLUE SEARCH BAR...

THE RESPOND WAS "INVALID SEARCH QUERY"

I couldnot get my important mails back from the trash folder..

kindy help me..'ASAP..please

If you delete an email, it stays in your Trash for 30 days. After 30 days, emails are permanently deleted from the trash and the server.
