Hello,
Please help !
I have written a whole bunch of songs in the UK and have brought them to France where I live now. They were all saved in word 95/97 and now there is no way to open them up. It gives me some weird format with squares and a whole bunch of symbols.
This is years of work and I have spent hours trying to recover these. You seem to be a bit of a wiz in computing.
What should I do?
Martin
Thanks in advance!

Are you using a different computer to read the files?
Do you have Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office installed?
You need a copy of Office or a compatible program like Microsoft Works to read the Word 95/97 files.
I you don't have Word installed on your current computer you might try the free Word viewer programs from Microsoft. get it at this link http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/HA010449811033.aspx
or Google "OpenOffice" to find a link to the free Microsoft Office replacement program.
Good Luck
