Dell labtop screen is black help

Hello,
I have a dell inspirion 1300 and when i turn it on the screen is already black. like it doesnt work. what options do i have, is htere anything besides replacing the screen?

This link was not working...They same thing happened to me but with a dell inspiron 2650..plz help
