Practice, practice, practice.
Practice typing sentenances such as:
The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog!
or
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of his country!
Place your first four fingers of each hand on the keyboard. Feel for the keys that have a little ridge on them (J and F). Those are the keys that your pointer finger rest on. The rest of the fingers should be on k-l-;-, and d-s-a.
Place some paper over your fingers while typing to discourage looking at the fingers. Type by feel!
Have fun
Look at your local library for free keyboarding classes. Mine offers classes regularly!
