Strange that you should get a message in French while you are in the USA.
If you created the account in the USA and that you are logging in from the device you usually login with, I suggest you try again later. The links you have given, do take me to a French url
Be aware that Chrome has and has had a lot of bugs. Perhaps if you try to connect through another browser such as Firefox.
