Yahoo account recovery

i need to sign into my yahoo account i know the yahoo ID and password but it ask for a code and sends it to the phone number i set to the account years ago, i have not had access to that number in a very long time.. how can i get into my account? this sis stopping me from signing into my facebook as well.. please help me!! below where it is asking for a email i entered my gmail account i have acces to that account

Unfortunately, if, when you created the account, you have not registered an alternate recovery email address to which you have access to receive an account key, you cannot prove that you are the account's legitimate owner. Hence account recovery is absolutely impossible and there is no way around it.
