HP computer beeps 5 times and won't turn on

I have an HP 4000. Haven't used in over a year. Set it up only to listen to it beep 5 times in 3 consecutive episodes then fan comes on but monitor says going into sleep mode and then nothing. I've tried removing each of the the two RAM sticks but no resolution. Is replacing the RAM the fix? Please help. I cannot afford this nor a new PC at this time and it's crucial I have this resolved .

HP 4000 is a laser printer, please verify your computer model again.
