Outlook Keeps Prompting to Use Temp Mailbox or Old

we had corrupt .edb file for exchange 2007 server
was able export data from old .edb file
created a new clean mailbox database.edb file
migrated all users info to new database file
reset user outlook profile
but still gets prompts to either open temp mailbox (which is in fact current and complete mailbox) or old data
how can i stop this behavior or make exchange edb repair?
