Cannot access Outlook Express after install

I installed IE 8 after getting an update message from Microsoft.

Now, when I try to access my email by clicking on the envelope icon on my toolbar nothing happens!!

I can access my email via the web, but I only see the current messages in my inbox there.

Also, when I first click on IE, I get a message, page not found, but as soon as I click on the home icon it goes directly to Google, which is my home page.

I tried deleting my history. That didn't work.
