Not able to attach files in Gmail

Hello,

For 4 days, I can not attach files with Gmail anymore using the attachment icon. After clicking on the attachment icon, I am just able to open the folder. When I select a file, the program stops working. I have to shut down Chrome and restart every time.

A few more interesting points I want to share:
  • Same problem if I use Internet Explorer and not Chrome!
  • PDF files can be attached. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are not attachable.
  • Can attach files using drag and drop.


Please help me fix it!

Pdfs are static documents. Office documents can contain scripts and other stuff. No mail server (properly administered) wil allow this type of document to enter the domain, so gmail doesnt even borher allowing you to pick those as an attachment. Zip the files first using 7zip, then you can attach them, but what do I know, iamanidiot!
