Failed to install Windows XP over Vista

Hi,

My daughter tried installing XP over Vista. Didn't work, so how can I fix it? Laptop was given to me with no recovery disc.

XP is a step down. Unless you have XP SP3, you won't even be able to connect to the internet. Why do you want to try to downgrade the OS?

Nope, although XP is better, it is older. Check this out for history if you care. Just go in and DEFRAG drive, run SFC SCANNOW, and clear all browser cache. Remove any programs you know are FREE, and you should have a stable box for a little while.
