Connect wifi to modem/wifi combo

We have whisper internet at work. It uses a modem/wifi router all in one. The internet connection is fine when using a LAN connection, but the Wi-Fi drops out on a regular basis. Can I connect a different router to it through the WAN port and run wifi of the secondary router?
