Hi Joseph,
Your computer won't explode when you do, so you can just try it :).
Putting E2-F2 in a cell without the '=', thus not being a formula, Excel will recognise it as a string of text. So the cell will read E2-F2.
Putting an '=' in front of it, turns it into a formula. Now the result will depend on the values entered in E2 and F2.
