Restore laptop to factory settings

Hello, i'm wonder if any one can help. I have a 4 year old Acer Travelmate 2300, with windows xp, it hasn't got a lot of memory so I need to restore it back to the factory settings so I can give the laptop to my son so he can play his games.

Hi !

4 years, I doubt if there was the recovery partition at this time !

Try to use Alt+F10 keys on startup of your PC (or only F10), if the recovery partition exists, then the reinstall will start.

Do you do that as soon as u turn it on cause I have the same laptop and the same problem! :)

I think I used Alt + F10 or F10 on its own but you do this as the loading screen comes up and keep them held down. Hope this helps.
