Hello, I have been trying to record using my cakewalk music creator 4 and a lexicon alpha interface device (this is what my microphone is connected to with its XLR jack/cord). I have followed the instructions to set up all the way through when it asks to click on options and then choose midi devices. When I choose the midi devices options, a screen comes up. On the top half of this screen there is a box labeled inputs and below that box another labeled outputs. In each of these box there are suppose to be devices to choose, but I only have one in the lower box(the outputs box) and none in the inputs box... without these my software would let me record as it does not recognize nor understand what I am trying to do (record midi or audio files). Anyone who can help would please me greatly. Thank you.

hi,

this means that the computer is not recognizing your microphone.

go to control panel > sounds and audio devices

click the sound tab and then under the microphone, click volume

then make sure that the microphone is selected, adjust the volume if you want.

now try again.
