Gta 4 runs pretty slow

Hello,

i have
4 gb ram ddr2
8600gt nvidia graphic card
2.8 ghz core 2 duo processor
windows xp sp(3)
monitor samsung 20 inch lcd (1600*900) resolution

gta 4 is pretty slow on my system wat do i do ? cnt buy a new graphic card knw....
plz suggest

Before changing any piece of equipment , please check out test your PC configurations for running GTA 4 on this site:

Install latest patch for GTA4 and try to reduce the graphics before running the game. (textures , shadows ...etc)
