Hi All,
I tried to downgrade my system (Hp Pavillion DV5 1203 ax) from Vista to Xp. I tried slipstreaming many sata drivers for AMD Processor but it didn't work. Can anyone please tell me where to get the exact sata driver for this model

If the problem is when you boot from XP cd and after while it say that HDD is not detected you don't need SATA driver. Go to BIOS and you'll see SATA [enable] turn that on [disable] , reboot and start installing XP. Works for me. Hope this helps.

Hi Atul,

first checK the bios options. Hope you'll find an option called "Native Sata support" (or something like that) change it to disabled any try installing Xp.

if there is no such option then you need to find proper SATA driver for your model. Download it and slipstream the driver with Xp bootable cd and try again.

here is one link for you. this driver works for DV5 1203 ax. But you can try for your model :)

Hi pero,

Thanks for your valuable response.
I have tried that too. But for some models of HP (including DV5 1203 ax) there is no such option in Bios.
I think the only option left for me is to slipstream the sata drivers with boot CD.

Hi khbasha,

Thanks a lot!!!! :)
It did work for me too. I have also installed almost all the drivers successfully. But installation of fingerprint driver is really giving me a nightmare. It seems that driver is installed successfully but it can't recognize the hardware.

Please let me know if you are able to install it successfully in your system.

Again, thanks for your help.

Hi All,

I have downgraded my system (Hp Pavillion DV5 1203 ax) from vista home to XP. Now I'm unable to activate the fingerprint reader. I have tried the following:

1.Verisoft access manager.
It is not recognizing the finger print reader device at all.

2. Digital Persona password manager 2.01
This is also asking for USB fingerprint reader device.

Can anyone please help me.

Thanks in advance.
