Inspiron 8200 power

Hello,
I have in Inspiron 8200 that has been sitting in my closet for probably 2 years because of a problem with the power source.
I replaced the a/c adapter several times because I seemed to have problems with them breaking near the part that plugs into the computer. Then one day it just wouldn't recognize that it was plugged in at all. For a while I could position the cord just right and get it to charge , but finally it quit working entirely. I now have a completely flat battery and two a/c adapters which I am sure are both completely fine. I'd hate to put much money into the computer, but it would be nice to have it up and working.
Any suggestions?
