Is it an external or an Internal Hardisk?
If it is an external hardisk it should get connected though usb or your printer port
If it is an internal hardisk you must open your cpu connect it with a grey cable set the hardisk on slave
and boot your pc.
Normally your it will automatically recognize your hardisk otherwise just go to bios settings hardisck -scan and select primary and slave hardisk.
then go to windows you should see the hardisk i { My computer.
