How to set ip manually

Hello,
I cant set maually ip address to my pc. When i configure ip manually,and restart modem and pc but i cant ping to 192.168.1.1
Please tell me, if any changed is required in modem settings or pc settings.

Hye there,

You will need a router to be able to configure the IP settings,

Then Open Internet Explorer, type: 192.168.1.1

Enter admin and password,

Then check the IP address configurations

Dear

You want to put the manually iP then right click My Network Place go the properites next windown is coming in Local area connection right click and go the properites one option is showing Internet Protocal TCP/IP click and next click in properties then on windown come Internter Protocal (TCP/IP) Properties two option is showing there 1) obtain an ip address automaticly 2)Use the following ip address, if u want to put the i p address manually then go second option and put the your ip like 192.168.1.3 or 192.168.1.6 which one u want.

I have already done that way..Means i set ip 192.168.1.6 manually but then after i cant ping 192.168.1.1 which is of modem ip....means i cant ping the modem and not able to use the net.
