Can't download itunes 8! Help!

Hello,

My computer will not let me download the itunes 8 and everytime I try, it says its installing and then a message comes up saying: Itunes requires that your computer is running windows xp sp2 or newer. I don't know what to do... does anyone? If so please tell me because I have the older version of the ipod nano and it came with a disc so I have itunes but it says I can't buy any songs with out itunes 8. Thanks!

Thanks that helped a bunch!

Well now I have another problem....

Yesterday I figured out how to put pictures on my ipod and it was working just fine.
Now today I plugged it in and it didn't do anything and it said it wasn't responding and so
I unplugged it cause it didn't say that I couldn't. Well now it won't turn on and it sorta looks like
there is a picture from my slideshow briefly on the screen but you can hardly see it.

It's not working! Please help!!
