Excel 2003 spreadsheet matching

Hello,

I am trying, without much luck, to Match two values on seperate worksheets on excel 2003 so that values on one sheet will be matched and transferred from Sheet 2 to Sheet 1.

I have two worksheets with roughly the same info on both. On sheet 1 and 2 there is a reference number that should match. I need to match sheet 1's reference number to sheet 2's reference number so that when matched all other values on sheet 2 are brought accross to sheet one and matched accordingly with the correct reference number beside the info that is aready there, if no match is made then the result should be black. I have tried VLOOKUP formula's through other posts on this form here but with no sucsess.

If someone can please help it will be very mush appreciated.
