Hello,
I failed to install Windows Xp on my brand-new ACER ASPIRE M 3640. I formatted the HDD and as soon as I try to run the application CD, I get the fearsome blue screen. I suspect it has to do with the famous SATA affair bt in my BIOS I'm unable to select IDE since there are other parmeters, and I don't understand, either how to fix the drivers' problem. Could anyone lend me a hand?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Tony

Hello Friend, I think you can solve your problem as under:

1. Insert Windows XP CD in CD/DVD Rom.
2. Reboot.
3. Immediately, when screen comes, press F2 for Bios to open.
4. Change your HDD mode to IDE and Save by pressing F10.
5. Reboot from CD/DVD Rom.

Don't you know you can't install Windows Xp on new laptops, you have to install the windows vista of Acer.

Well, mine is not a laptop but a desktop, and I don't want WINDOWS VISTA but XP because some applications I run don't over VISTA (including my printer).

Thanks for your message.
