Hello,

What formula would I enter if I a have 2 columns of numbers, one column(G) has both negative and positive numbers and one column (I) only has positive numbers. I want to subtract Column "I" from Column "G", but the problem I am running into is when there is a positive number in Column "I" and a Negative number in Column "G" it sums them together for example column "I" has 60 column "G" has "-36" when calculated the total is 96.

The formula I entered was : =I2-G2

When It calculates 2 positive numbers together it comes out with the correct calculation.

When it calculates a positive and a negative Number it calculates wrong.

How can I created a formula to correct this problem?

Please help,
Thanks
Deb

Hello deb

Am sorry but i dont really see your point

actually 60- -36 = 96

It's mathematical two minus sign make a plus so the addition is normal
