Complete fun

Hello, i have a very interesting problem... probably something many people have had but i cant seem to find a actual answer to it... my brothers labtop got exposed to something and now thinks its hard drive is not there... i run hard drive tests and it passes quick test but fails full comprhensive test. it wont even boot all the way up and when i try to boot from cd it says there is no hard drive....
