Flashing cell contents

Hello,
I have made a spredsheet to show household bills. There is a colum to input a date for when the bill is due for payment. How do I make the date flash if it is past its 'due date'. I have copied a macro from this site to show cell contents at a certain number vale, but I cannot workout how to edit it for my purpose. I have a cell with "TODAY()" in it so I can change the 'due date' cell contents colour when its past it due date with conditional formatting, but it would be nice to flash.
