Mic not working

Hello,

I am an avid Gamer and recently download teamspeak to aid me. I can't get my microphone to work. When I speak people say that they hear a low noise or beep but nothing else. Also theres' a similar response when I test in the sound recorder. I've tried all the basic sound recording things, took everything off mute, selected mic instead of stereo etc. It may be a driver issue because when I try to go to advanced in recording options it is grey and unclickable. I've tried a few mics as well. If this is a driver problem, where can I safely download the necessary drivers?
