How to connect 2 computers with same IP addreClosed

Dear,

i have a Cable Net Connection, and my IP is asign only in my computer means it can be run only my PC, now i wana work on my LAPTOP and connect to internet, so tell me how can i use same IP Address in my LAPTOP.......it is assign to only my PC................

kindly tel me is it possible.

hi there,

you can set it manually

go to control panel

double click on network connections

Under LAN or High-Speed Internet Double click the enabled device

move to tcp/ip

then configure it manually

enter the ip address you wanted

subnet mask :255.255.255.0

some times the cable connection would've registered the mac addr of ur desktop so it would not let to go online with laptop which has a different mac addr........ask your isp to release a registered mac addr to your laptop or just get a router so that u can use both laptop and desktop at the same time

You can't use same IP on 2 computers at the same time, it will cause IP conflict problem. If you wanna have 2 computers to use single Internet connection, you should get a wireless or wired router ans set up a simple network to meet your need. The router is pretty cheap nowadays. 

You can take a look on this wireless network or wired network setup tutorial, should be able to give you more ideas.
