How to lock a sytem

Hello,
everyone. i'm using windows xp operating system. the user accounts and search option got deleted in my pc. if i want to lock my pc using user account, i'm unable to lock it. so can anybody suggest any solution for that and also could you please soggest me any system locking software which should ask the password whenever i turn on my pc.
