You can share file/folder with user/group permission in XP, can try it and see how it goes.

You can restrict access to the folders. This would be the best option for your problem.
Right click on the folder and get in the Sharing and Security option.
While getting in the sharing menu, you will see a check for making the particular folder private.
Click on it and you're done!
