How to install new hard drive on laptop

Hello,

Could somebody help me please!

I have a HP Pavilon DV2000 i bot e new hard drive for it because the old one was broken. The new one is WD but my pc does not recognise is the same problem as before when i go to install OS say there is no hard drive? do i need any driver? or my laptop has something else?

hi there,

format the hard disk from raw to ntfs

plug it to an external casing then format it
