How do i fix my sound on my laptop?

Hello,
My sound is not working on my laptop i have a sony vaio.
when i right click the sound icon.
it says
"This computer cannot play audio because the Windows Audio Service is not anabled.
Would you like to enable the Windows Audio Service."
and im not a computer person at all.
i pressed yes, and i have no idea what to choose.
