Dual monitor problem

Hello,

I have an old laptop where the monitor was messed up, so I hooked it up to my tv. All was well for a while, then it wouldn't connect to the internet at all. I read some forums and determined (not sure if I was right), that I had a virus. So I pulled out the old XP install disk and reconfigured the laptop. The disk was so old that I had to download service pack 2 onto an external hard drive to get it to connect at all. That worked, I downloaded service pack 3 and now I have internet. Problem is when I went to hook it back up to my tv, there isn't a multiple monitor feature even there now. I went in to display, advanced, monitor, and there isn't the choice like here used to be to use 2 monitors.

Now what? Is there another download that I need?
