Problem in formatting

Hello friend,

i have a problem that when i enter my bootable vista dvd to install vista on my laptop, then my laptop is not run that bootable dvd. my first problem is formatting .
i explain u ...currently i have vista that is not worked so i plan to format. but when i enter my vista bootable into dvd rom then that not worked.....so first my problem is formatting of my laptop. now yet when bootale dvd not run ,how i format my laptop...please tell me the solution of my problem

hi there,

go to bios and make your dvd drive as primary boot

then boot from the dvd or when booting pc press function keys as

shown on the boot screen F2,F8,F11 or F12

depends on the model

you will be asked to press any key to boot from dvd

just press any key on the keyboard
