Opening files Closed

Hello,
I am using Vista, with Internet Explorer 8, and when I try and open an attachment from a website, I am only allowed to save the file, I am not allowed to just open it. From the same website I can open it on my laptop running XP and IE7

Dear Pete, 

In both cases, you are in fact downloading it.

You can also save it. It will not be taking more time.

You can delete it manually after that you have had a look at it.
