All is fine but cannot pingClosed

Hello,
i m using windows xp proffesional edition. i have network adaptor of realtek cheapset which is installed properly.i hav a D-Link network switch having 8 ports.i want to connect 3 pc's using this network switch.distance between each pc is approx 60 feets. i connected these pcs but there is no automatic connection so i used manual settings.but the problem is that i m unable to ping any of these pc's.All network adaptor are installed properly.cable are checked if they r working or not.cables are fine.unable to spot out wat the problem is........

hello,
       i encounted the same problem once and all i did i deleted all the connections i had on the two pcs and the first pc i formatted it and when windows installation was over the problem was solved and windows did all the automatic connection. i would advise you to delete all the connections and format the original pc and i hope that it works for you.
