Cant get my printer to work

Hello,
got a canon printer installed it few months ago on my laptop, now got a new laptop and having few issues. the cd for installation keeps saying its not formated-how can this be when i used it previous. also cant download the software from canon

Could you give more information on what the PC

indicates has not been formatted please.
