Low disc space

Hello,
I have tried all the usual tips to free up disc space like moving picture files to external hard drive and deleting unnecesary programmes but am now at the stage where I can't delete any more programms and still only have 250 mb on a 14.6Gig C drive.

Trouble is that I can't find anwhere near the 14.3 gig of stored programmes and opther files when I go to "my computer" and hover over each icon Eg "docs and settings", "prog files" , "windows" etc etc. these only amount to 4 gig in total

Same when I go to "Control Panel" and "unistall programmes"

Where is the missing 10 Gig????
