Hey,
I have a Canon printer, and I have had many problems with it also. If you want to install it so that you can use it, follow these directions. I hope this works for Windows 2003 like it does with Windows XP.
GO TO:
Start,
Control Panel,
Printers and Faxes,
On the left pane you will se the option Add A Printer. Click this
Click Next until you come to the Local or Network option
Select Local printer, don't use the auto install.
Click nect, and make sure that the printer is connected to the correct port (the one it says)
Select the printer manuafacturer and the type of computer.
Select Keep Existing Driver
Select Keep As Defualt printer
Select Print A Test Page
The rest of the instructions should be very easy. I couldn't go past the last instruction that I wrote because that would re-install my printer and I'd lose my settings. If these instructions don't work for Windows 2003, then contact the printer manuafacturer's website and I hope those have instructions. PLEASE REPLY
